| Venice is one of the most unique cities on earth. Its long history as a major political and economic center on the Mediterranean made it one of the preeminent sites for the development of major works of art and architecture from the 12th through 18th centuries. This legacy continues through its current status as an international beacon for contemporary art, particularly through the Venice Biennale, an exhibition begun in 1895. Few cities afford as rich of an exploration of history and artistic culture spanning the medieval through contemporary periods. None do so in a setting as enchanting and unique as Venice. This program immerses 黑料社区s in the study of art and intercultural exchange through multiple sites across Venice. This course begins with two weeks of online instruction and study in preparation for two weeks of immersive study in this one-of-a-kind city and covers two courses worth six credits. | ART 230V and ART 230C (6 credits) |
