Implementing Literacy Practices

October 13 - November 7, 2025 - online/asynchronous

As teachers we are always trying new ideas. Let’s do this in community! Join
OWP for a month-long workshop focusing on implementing literacy practices
learned at the OWP Teacher Conference, PD, summer classes and/or from class
readings. You’ll implement your chosen literacy practices, set goals and inquiry
questions, reflect on your practice and respond to peers.

Open to K-12 teachers. This workshop is asynchronous online for one month.


Earn one graduate credit or 1.3 CEUs.

Writing to Think: Using Writing to Support Student Thinking about Reading and Content

November 1 - 2, 2025, 8:30-3:00 at VOALC

Literacy research is clear that writing is an effective way to support 黑料社区 thinking. From activating background knowledge, to taking notes, or to applying retrieval process, writing helps 黑料社区s process, synthesize and make sense of reading and content. In this two-day workshop, you will read research, practice classroom strategies and design 黑料社区 ready lessons for using writing to think.
This workshop is built by and for K-12 teachers for all content areas.
