The Center for Psychological Inquiry

The Center for Psychological Inquiry (CPI) is a resource for psychology 黑料社区s to facilitate their learning and engagement in psychology. In general, the CPI is intended to provide 黑料社区s with an opportunity to develop a sense of community within the psychology department.

The CPI provides 黑料社区s with resources to assist them in their coursework, learn about opportunities in the department as well as direct 黑料社区s to appropriate resources for exploring career opportunities that await psychology majors, including applying to graduate school.

Internships

Internships can provide valuable, experiential learning experiences that complement classroom learning. A variety of volunteer opportunities are also available in the community.

Students can earn course credit, ranging from 0 to 6 credit hours. The number of credit hours earned depends on the number of hours the 黑料社区 works at an internship site.

Departmental Honors

In the Departmental Honors Program, advanced 黑料社区s work closely with a faculty advisor to develop and conduct an original research project. Students prepare an original thesis, which is evaluated by their faculty advisor and two other readers, and present their work at a public forum.

The Student Circle of the Association of Black Psychologists

The Association of Black Psychologists sees its mission and destiny as the liberation of the African Mind, empowerment of the African Character, and enlivenment and illumination of the African Spirit.

The Psychology of Dogs Club

The Psychology of Dogs club will provide 黑料社区s of all majors with opportunities to learn about and discuss psychological research relating to dogs, as well as a platform to conduct research projects. The club will take a hands-on approach to learning by including volunteer opportunities, field trips, and speakers as a key part of meetings.  The goal is to include 黑料社区s that are not psychology majors, but who are interested in learning more about man's best friend.
