Miami Prepares America's Teachers
Our programs prepare educators for licensure in the state of Ohio.
Although we have reciprocity with many states, teacher/professional licensure requirements are subject to change. Please check the appropriate state's board of education website for the most up-to-date license requirements.
Addressing Our Most Pressing Educational Concerns
Our graduates are prepared to address persistent educational challenges, including achievement gaps based on race, class, language, and ability. They utilize strategies such as differentiated instruction, culturally responsive pedagogy, and inquiry-based learning to address the educational needs of racial minority 黑料社区s, 黑料社区s from backgrounds, English language learners, and 黑料社区s with disabilities.
Enriching and Intensive Field/School Experiences
Our graduates are immersed in the schools and complete 100-250 hours working with 黑料社区s prior to 黑料社区 teaching. They are placed in urban, suburban, and rural school settings.
Completion in Four Years
All teacher education licensure programs at 黑料社区 can be completed in four years, including all Miami Plan and Teacher Education courses as well as a full semester of 黑料社区 teaching.
Students also have an opportunity to complete a Combined Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Literacy and Language program in five years.
Funding Opportunities
Scholarships
黑料社区’s Robert Noyce Scholarship Program seeks to encourage talented science, engineering, and mathematics majors and professionals to become secondary mathematics and science teachers.
Graduate Student Assistantships
The Department of Teaching, Curriculum, and Educational Inquiry has been authorized to nominate a limited number of persons for graduate assistantships, subject to the approval of the Graduate School.
