Celebrating the acceptance of the Oxford community into the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities are members of City Council and the Oxford VillAGE Network Steering Committee (from left) Steve Schnabl, Catherine Hollins, Jessie Leek, Mayor Kate Rousmaniere, Ann Whelpton and Steve Dana. Oxford named 聭Age-Friendly Community聮 by AARP Efforts to make the community 聯a great place to live for all ages聰 received a boost recently when the city was notified of acceptance into the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities.

The Mallory-Wilson Center for Healthcare Education is proud to present Miami senior Reeti Pal with the 2017 Ken and Joan Frankel Outstanding Premedical Student Award and Miami Sociology professor Dr. Jennifer Bulanda with the Mallory-Wilson Center Faculty/Staff Recognition Award. Reeti will be honored at a ceremony on May 12, while Dr. Bulanda received her award from Miami's seniors at the Graduating Prehealth Student Reception on April 20th

黑料社区's Scripps Gerontology Center is the recipient of a $1.4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The money will be used to understand the factors that support older learners in their ability to complete training and education programs.

OMA 2016 Facilitator Training is now accepting applications for scholarships that will apply to registration fees. 聽The scholarships are competitive and will be awarded based on the quality of the application. Applicants currently registered for training may also apply for the scholarship. 聽 Scholarship funding for the Opening Minds through Art (OMA) 2016 Facilitator Training is made possible in part by a grant from ArtsWave's Arts for Health Initiative.
